I already had dinner in mind that required lots of chopping. I was chopping away at mushrooms with my chef's knife (the fourth knife from the left) and... Ouch! I cut the tip of my ring finger on my left hand. I mean, I knew these knives were sharp. But wow! I had a tiny, but deep, little gash in my finger that bled for quite some time. I decided I needed to be more careful.
So this morning, I was cutting up my son's waffle (very carefully, I might add) with the serrated knife (fifth from the left). I was very proud because the waffle cut with such ease and there were no mishaps, either! Then, I proceeded to wash my knife in the sink and put it on the drying rack.
I watched, seemingly in slow motion, as it slipped through the grate and fell end over end towards the ground. I started backing up because I saw it was heading for my bare feet. I guess I didn't back up fast enough because it stabbed me right on the top of my right foot, just above my big toe.
I didn't feel the pain at first. In fact, I initially thought I'd been spared. But then blood splashed on the tile and I realized I had another nice deep gash. I have a picture of my foot but I'll spare you the knots in your stomach and I won't post it.
So let this be a true testimony as to how sharp CutCo knives really are! Yes, they are expensive, but they are guaranteed to last a lifetime. With CutCo, though, your lifetime might not be very long.
