My New CutCo Knives

I was so excited to get my new CutCo Knives yesterday.  I had been tracking the package online for the last 10 days and my anticipation was through the roof.  They were supposed to arrive the day before but they got delivered to the wrong address and so they went back to the local shipping department and I had to provide the correct address.  Annoying.... Anyway, I got them yesterday and eagerly began opening the box and setting up my display.

I already had dinner in mind that required lots of chopping.  I was chopping away at mushrooms with my chef's knife (the fourth knife from the left) and... Ouch!  I cut the tip of my ring finger on my left hand.  I mean, I knew these knives were sharp.  But wow!  I had a tiny, but deep, little gash in my finger that bled for quite some time.  I decided I needed to be more careful.

So this morning, I was cutting up my son's waffle (very carefully, I might add) with the serrated knife (fifth from the left).  I was very proud because the waffle cut with such ease and there were no mishaps, either!  Then, I proceeded to wash my knife in the sink and put it on the drying rack.

I watched, seemingly in slow motion, as it slipped through the grate and fell end over end towards the ground.  I started backing up because I saw it was heading for my bare feet.  I guess I didn't back up fast enough because it stabbed me right on the top of my right foot, just above my big toe.

I didn't feel the pain at first.  In fact, I initially thought I'd been spared.  But then blood splashed on the tile and I realized I had another nice deep gash.  I have a picture of my foot but I'll spare you the knots in your stomach and I won't post it.

So let this be a true testimony as to how sharp CutCo knives really are!  Yes, they are expensive, but they are guaranteed to last a lifetime.  With CutCo, though, your lifetime might not be very long.
